BOOT CAMP by Gina Christie

Whitney isn’t fat.
But unfortunately for her, she doesn’t belong on the cover of a fitness magazine either.
Always the last person picked in gym class when she was in high school and the first person to complain about running just one mile, Whitney finally decides enough is enough. Risking her unathletic being – and maybe even her sanity – she signs up for a strict fitness boot camp consisting of more exercise than she’s ever seen in her eighteen years of living.
Little does she know, this camp will be full of surprises, especially one by the name of Axel Chandler..

My Review:

I loved the way this book is written, the characters have a lot of originality. Whitney is strong and determined, she always confronts her insecurities with all her strength and she continues to evolve every time she finds some weakness inside her.
The male character is also quite unique, it is not «instalove» with this guy, Axel… he is a tough one, but he constantly pushes her limits so she can achieves her goals and feel better, he tries to understand her and boost her spirit even when it is something completely out of his comfort zone, meanwhile they create a beautiful connection.
Another thing that I found very interesting is the perspective from which the subject of bullying is treated, this book give you both sides on the story of the antagonistic character, and that surprised me, it was very unusual, that part caught my attention and appreciation for this writer since it was very well linked in the plot,  I’m looking forward to her next book. I highly recommend this book, a ‘must read’ specially for YA.
